Launch of Private Pre-school Launching Grant
On 12 April 2010, a government grant scheme for privately owned pre-schools was launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as part of the Education Ministry's initiative to enhance the education sub-sectors under the National Key Results Area (NKRA).

Eligible private pre-schools which begin operations this year will be given a RM10,000 start-up grant each to encourage more pre-schools in poor rural and urban areas. So far, 426 pre-schools were eligible to receive the launching grant under this scheme. [MORE]



ASLI 14th Malaysian Education Summit

The 14th Malaysian Education Summit organised by ASLI was held on 14 & 15 April 2010 with the theme 'Transforming Education: The Next Milestones towards a World-Class Education System'.

The event was launched by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education who delivered the keynote address 'Building Young Minds – Towards Greater Creativity and Innovation in the Education System'.

MAPCU LogoThe NAPEI 29th Malaysian Education Fair
The NAPEI 29th Malaysian Education Fair will be held at PWTC, KL on 5 and 6 June 2010 (Saturday and Sunday). Admission is free. Visitors will be treated to more than 70 exhibitors taking up more than 120 booths to showcase their courses (internal awarded programmes and collaborative programmes with overseas universities) and provide professional counseling services. The fair aims to benefit students who are looking for higher education options as well as parents who want to find out more about pre-tertiary education for their children.
