Signing agreement for Nilai UC's Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programmes

Nilai University College (Nilai UC) launched its Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programme in 2007. Since then, the programme has become one of the most talked about programmes in education circles.

One of the principle reasons for this is the fact that Nilai UC’s programme incorporates the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) * syllabus, preparing students for the EASA Part 66 Category B1-1 examinations.

Nilai UC’s programme also has the added advantage of having its own dedicated hangar and plane on campus to give its students valuable hands on experience even before they are sent out for their industrial placements. Nilai UC now has nine industry partners on board – SR Aviations Ltd, Berjaya Air, Dnest Aviation Services, Integrated Training & Services Aviation Academy, KLAS, Sabah Air, Subang General Aviation Sdn Bhd and Systematic General Aviation Sdn Bhd.

Today’s signing ceremony sees Nilai UC sign an agreement with Kingston University, UK and CAA International Ltd, UK, with regards to the delivery of programmes on aircraft maintenance engineering. Nilai UC will be working with its new partners with a view to offering a degree in this field. Also in the pipeline is a helicopter maintenance programme.

Signing on behalf of Nilai is the President, Prof Emeritus Tengku Dato’ Shamsul Bahrin. Representing Kingston University is Dr Peter Mason, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Representing CAA International Ltd is Matthew Margesson, Senior Manager of the Training and Examinations Unit.

Nilai UC was established in 1997 and is located in the picturesque suburb of Putra Nilai, just 15-minutes away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 45-minutes south of Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
